My favorite books
The main builder of my soul by the way
Exams are over and I have free will, I write for myself. My mantra today. Hence, I will today show a piece of my soul. My all-time books.
Childhood
Judy Moody series
This absolutely defined who I am today. Seventeen books of absolute banger of a children’s series.
Judy Moody was who I wanted to be as a third grader. She was so damn cool, like, such fun friends and adventures - she went to literal uni! Not to mention she was a third grader for a whole series, please, couldn’t my childhood have been so long…
I remember I had no social media (duh) and I would randomly look up online whether another book is out in my country. Best day ever when a new one was released.
I even remember that the first book I got was the FIFTH one in the series. And I did not like it at first. But, we can see how that went. I will forever treasure you, Judy Moody.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
It’s a classic if you ask me. True icon, Gregory Heffley. I am not as bounded with this series as with Judy Moody, but still great, and surprisingly very witty.
Polish children’s books.
They probably don’t have a translation to any other foreign language, but there were some books that gave me “phases” for my personality, which means that they were culturally significant for me.
Young Adult/Romance
Five Feet Apart
I am NOT OKAY. I was WEEPING, movie, book, whatever you ask me. I think that if someone asked me to tell them what book I like or remember I would hit them up with this masterpiece. Honestly, Rachael Lippincott has such great books, I have three of her works. Do check her out if you like YA romance.
Alice Oseman’s books
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF ‘EM I READ ‘EM. It is such a part of my book journey, it might have a special spot in my heart, right next to Judy Moody. I absolutely love “Loveless”, I have read it a few times and will definitely come back to it. Heartstopper was a whole phase for me and I cherish it to this day and I am waiting for the movie and volume six so bad. I have a whole Alice Oseman shelf, I just adore her writing. Queen.
Favorite: Loveless and Heartstopper vol.3
Emily Henry’s books
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF ‘EM I READ ‘EM. She is my definition of a good romance writer. Perfect amount of character arcs, past and the blooming relationship along with a sweet ending. The depth is absolutely on spot here, gets you into the feelings, you know the characters, but it doesn’t drive you away from the romance plot, it kinda strengthens it. I am not a #1 fan of EVERY book, but I surely do love her work and read two books in English (another brief mention, not a native here:)).
Favorite: Book Lovers and Funny Story
Very neat category: everything else:)
There ain’t enough of books of one genre for me to make separate categories. So:
The Once and Future King by T.H White. I won’t shut up about this book I swear. Six hundred pages of this goldie and in English? I am TIED to this book at this point. Historical fiction, fantasy, mild romance, drama I was so INTO this book. Arthurian legends became my thing in history and I am not good at history and well I kinda dislike it so it means something. I have two books so far about them and I fear it is not over. (Another one is Tolkien’s).
The Taylor Jenkins Reid category.
I read like, six books of hers so far and I loved almost each of them. She is exactly what I want from contemporary fiction. I adore her style, it is so pleasant to read. Just, pure gold, nothing more to add.
Favorite: Atmosphere and Carrie Soto Is Back
The Husbands by Holly Gramazio. Such a light, fun book with an incredible concept. I’ve grown to really like the ending. And I’ve grown to also want a magic attic, but perhaps not filled with husbands or wives. Maybe cats? I wouldn’t send them away though…
The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. If the book messes with time, sign me up. I got it from my boyfriend for my birthday last year, so a bit of added sentimental value.
Fredrik Backman category. EVERY. SINGLE. BOOK.
My favorite author. The wit, the depth, the mystery, the twists, the jokes absolutely YES.
Favorite: Anxious People. It’s the first one I read and it stuck with me so much, my Kindle is swamped with quotes from this book.
Reading right now: My Friends
School assignment books
The Plague - Albert Camus
Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov
Tango - Sławomir Mrożek
That wraps up my all-time books:3. Let me know yours down below<33
